The Opposite of Success

The Opposite of Succes by Eleanor Elliott Thomas

Urgh, I don’t like writing bad reviews. It hurts my soul but yet here we are. Will keep it short and sweet (or sour, however you want to look at it).

This did a whole lot of nothing for me. The storyline seemed unrealistic and an unbelievable amount of things happened in the space of a week (I mean I think that was the point, but I didn't like it). I could relate to Lorrie (our main character) in some instances and the conversation around “giving more at work” - as a returning parent, your mindset does shift, so fully appreciate that. Other than that, I could not relate to any other part of this story (other than having a drink at lunch). I couldn't’ connect with the other characters and as I said it all happened quickly.

I think I was speed reading and ending up brushing over large chunks of writing to get closer to the finish line. Not for me.
