Darling Girls

October hasn’t been a great month for reading for me. I have been distracted and haven’t picked up anything that is keeping me up past 8.05pm. Until this.

Darling Girls got me hook, line and sinker. Her writing continues to keep me up at night and become very distracting during the work day. This story follows three women who were brought up in Foster Care in Australia. Three very different women, with very different stories. Alicia, Jessica and Norah (with a h; IYKYK) and their “mother” Miss Fairchild. They are reunited back at their foster home town when a body is found under the house. Hepworth develops the characters with such dark intricacies, you literally have no idea where the story is going to go and to be honest for me, that’s what makes a bloody good read. I enjoyed the chapter design with different POV’s for before and after the body was found.

All in all, I would recommend to anyone who loves a fast paced thriller, based in Australia and that you will read in less than 24 hours.
